How to get here

Conveniently situated between Nairobi and Mombasa, our lodge boasts excellent transport links, ensuring easy access from both cities.

Getting to Ngutuni by train is the quickest and most convenient way to get to the lodge from Mombasa or Nairobi. The railway has undergone recent modernisation and uses modern Chinese built trains.

Our local station Voi, is on the main Mombasa – Nairobi train line, and is less than 20 minutes away from the entrance to our Game Sanctuary. By prior arrangement, one of our drivers can collect you at the station for transportation to the Lodge, and return you at the end of your stay. Please advise of this requirement at the time of booking, or by email at least one week before arrival, to kgs@ngutuni.com. Full details of the Train services can be viewed on the Kenya Railways website at https://metickets.krc.co.ke/ Another helpful website done by an international traveller is https://www.seat61.com/Kenya.htm

Ngutuni Lodge & Game Sanctuary is located just north of VOI, on the A109, which is the main Mombasa to Nairobi Road.

From Mombasa, the distance is approximately 110 miles (175 km) to the Sanctuary, and takes approximately 2 hours 45 minutes by car.

From Nairobi the distance is approximately 200 miles (322 km) to the Game Sanctuary entrance and takes approximately 4 hours 30 minutes.

It should be noted that the majority of the roadways within the Sanctuary are ‘tracks’ and not tarmacked roads, including the one from the Sanctuary entrance to the Game Lodge. We therefore recommend that you only arriving by private car if it is a 4 x 4 with reasonable ground clearance.

Our Safari Company, Rhino Safaris, have bases in both Nairobi and Mombasa. They can arrange for you to be transported from your location in Nairobi or Mombasa, to Ngutuni Lodge. The traveling times would be the same as by private car.
